* * * * *

Last weekend the rare event occurred that for two nights in a row, we selected good movies to watch at home. Usually sifting through the Netflix/Amazon selection results in a long process of deliberation and ultimately, a disappointing choice, but this time, it was really good luck. On Saturday it was The Prestige (it's got magic! and a twisty plot! and David Bowie plays Nikola Tesla!) and Sunday's delight was Heavenly Creatures, which just got weirder and weirder as it went along. Both excellent finds. Other highlights of the weekend included a great nap after the long walk through Greenpoint (Sprout tucked herself under my arm like a little chicken as I slept), dinner with Emile Zola and baby Colette, and walking around the flea market with Maggie. These days the delineation between the work week and the weekend is distinct: different places, different rhythms, but I'm pretty into the routine and excited that fall's on its way into town.
