Last Saturday: The Maurizio Cattelan exhibition at the Guggenheim, followed by Melancholia at the Angelika. It was a magnificent sight to see all the sculptures dangling there at different heights, their scale oddly disquieting. It was one of my favorite visits to the Museum that I've made (the bustling, jubilant atmosphere of Thanksgiving weekend surely contributed to my enjoyment). The website's got a great video of the installation. Bonkers to think of how heavy it must have been to hang so many strange things. Melancholia was good, too. If you ask me, the trailer spoils some of the prettiest moments, but the pace and the performances were just right.
