Last Monday, Kasha and Marty were in the city for a whirlwind 24 hour visit. We had brunch at Tom's and tried (unsuccessfully) to visit the Brooklyn Museum, which I'd forgotten was closed on Mondays. Instead, we went back to the big, beautiful house they had swapped for Rachel's apartment in Barcelona and all hung out with the gang. The place has terraces galore, a wonderful long wooden table in the kitchen, fireplaces, a big, old tub, and a skylight that goes through two floors. Very pretty. What a great way to usher in the new year: lounging around in a gorgeous house as the afternoon light waned. Last Thursday, the cycle repeated. Shaun called to see if I wanted to go to the Brooklyn Museum (which was open this time!) Then we had lunch at Tom's. At the Museum, we saw the Norman Rockwell stuff, Judy Chicago (duh) and ventured into the Mummy Chamber. It is such a great place: much more contemplative than when a museum is super crowded and you feel like you're standing in a line to see each thing. Here are a few from last week:

A Fry-kid like creature from the grocery store quarter machine.

We moved the lights from the office to the kitchen.

White watch (inspired by Nurse Jackie).

Panda Balloon.

Luxurious new winter socks.

I always coveted this duvet and now I've inherited it. Yay!
